Headaches, Sinus, or TMJ Pain? Discover the Cranial Connection

Do you struggle with recurring headaches, sinus pressure, or jaw discomfort that just won’t go away? These common issues often have deeper roots than most people realize—and sometimes, the source lies in the structure and subtle movement of your skull itself.

On Wednesday, November 5, from 6:00–7:30 PM, join Integra Direct Primary Care for a free educational program led by Martha Gilman, DO, an osteopathic physician known for her expertise in hands-on manipulation therapy. The event will be held at Derryfield School, Gateway Building Conference Room, 2226 River Road, Manchester, NH.

Understanding the Cranial Concept

Osteopathic medicine views the body as an integrated, self-healing system—where structure and function are intimately connected. Within that philosophy, the cranial concept focuses on the 22 bones of the skull and the gentle, rhythmic motion that supports circulation, nervous system balance, and overall well-being.

Though these bones are firmly joined together, they are not immobile. Each cranial suture allows for microscopic motion that plays a key role in maintaining healthy fluid movement throughout the head and body. When this motion becomes restricted—due to stress, injury, dental work, or chronic sinus congestion—it can lead to:

  • Persistent headaches or migraines
  • Recurrent sinus infections or pressure
  • TMJ (jaw) pain, popping, or grinding
  • Neck tightness, dizziness, or ear fullness

How Osteopathic Manipulation Can Help

Dr. Gilman will demonstrate how osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) can restore the natural rhythm and motion of the cranial bones. By using gentle, precise techniques, OMT helps reduce tension, promote drainage, and restore balance across the body.

You’ll leave this program with a deeper understanding of:

  • The anatomy and micro-movements of the skull
  • How cranial restrictions can contribute to sinus, headache, and jaw symptoms
  • How osteopathic manipulation supports natural healing
  • When to consider OMT as part of a broader wellness plan
